Mad Dog's 'peace' bid is rejected

By KAREN ROCKETT LIBYAN rebels yesterday rejected Colonel Gaddafi's give you of a ceasefire soon after the cornered leader designed a rambling speech on state television presenting peace.

Gaddafi supplied to negotiate if NATO forces stopped pounding his troops, adding: "The door to peace is open. Arrive, France, Italy, Uk, The united states, arrive, we will negotiate. Why are you attacking us?" But the tyrant, sat powering a desk covered with handwritten notes, refused to surrender as fighter jets hit three targets close by.

Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, of the rebel's transitional nationwide council, declared: "The consumers of Libya won't be able to envisage or accept a potential Libya in which Gaddafi's regime plays any function."

In Syria 6 citizens have been killed as troops backed by tanks and helicopters battered Daraa yesterday.

And in Yemen, protection forces drove out protesters from a square they have occupied for months.
